Thanks to Irene Myers @Irenearoundtown, I was invited to a remarkable fashion show by designer Gwen Beloti. Gwen is a young, emerging designer from Brooklyn. Her clothing style is very funky, edgy and trendy and is designed for the young and modern day woman. I definitely saw a few items I wouldn’t mind having in my closet! For instance, the high wasted pant with gold trimmings is a favorite of mine, especially because it can be worn to work and then transformed for a night on the town.
Her accessories line is also a must-have. I recommend the patterned clutches below, which would compliment any outfit! It only costs $55 and 10% of the proceeds go to Little Dresses for Africa, a non profit organization that helps sew dresses from blankets for women and children in Central Africa.
Take a look at a few shots I took during the fashion show. This line is titled Hard Serenity, for the dark colors and accents of white silk and gold trimmings. Thanks Gwen for a joyous evening and the great appetizers which included sushi, small bite sandwiches and great tasting cupcakes made by Sweet Confetti.
