Curls at every Length & Texture

Do you have curly hair? If the answer is yes, then you know the work that’s involved in caring for it. For some women,  it takes a lot to care for curls due to the process of shampooing,  detangling (if you have long hair) and styling. For others with loose curls, it can be a little easier to deal with. The main problem curly-haired women face is styling the curls to look more defined. The key to making curls look defined and beautiful is to use the right shampoo/conditioner as well as the perfect styling products that will give you the curls you desire.

Curls can be annoying sometimes due to the difficulty of trying to make them look more voluminous or less frizzy. However, curly-haired women can have more fun with their hair because they can create a more volumonous look with their curls or, if they get sick of it, they can blow dry their hair straight and keep it that way for one week! Mya & Annalynne’s shoulder-length curls look so glamorous. These ladies have what we call loose curls and the maintenance involved isn’t as bad as tighter curls. My recommendation for maintaining loose curls is (1) wash with Redken Fresh Curls Shampoo & Conditioner for Curly Hair, (2) use leave-in detangler by Pantene Pro-V (Pantene Pro V, Detangle Light Spray Conditioner with Amino Proteins) and (3) style with Fructis products. For example; try the Garnier Fructis Style Sleek & Shine Anti-Humidity Hair Styling Cream (4) Use a diffuser for more definition; this is optional, since air drying will still do the trick.

If you have coarser hair like Alicia Keys, you want to use a diffuser for styling made easy. Shakira and Alicia both have a lot of body in their hair, so products with more oils are needed for their curls to come out beautifully. They have wavy coarse curls; to handle these: (1) wash with Motions At Home Lavish Conditioning Shampoo, For Medium to Coarse Hair & Motions Cpr Conditioner, (2) detangle with Motions At Home Nourish Leave-In Conditioner, (3) use a hair serum or Moroccan Oil Treatment for styling (curls that are coarser need more moisture) and (4) Use a diffuser to finish the look.

Mariah has loose curls like Annalynne. She can just wash and go, but using a diffuser will allow the curls to dry individually, giving her the look she has above. Jennifer has really long hair and long curls, so a lot more work is necessary to maintain them. The first step is finding the right shampoo/conditioner. Above I’ve recommended Redken and Motions, but for Jennifer I would recommend Mane n Tail Shampoo & Conditioner which will add more volume to the hair, since length weighs the hair down. For detangling, use the Pantene Pro V, Detangle Light Spray Conditioner with Amino Proteins and Garnier Fructis for styling.

Leona and Alia both have naturally defined rounded curls, which look so beautiful when the hair is shoulder-length or  longer. These ladies have curls that are easy to manage and won’t require too much maintenance. The key is using  TIGI Catwalk Curls Rock Curly Hair Shampoo & Conditioner. And then for stying, using TIGI Catwalk Curls Rock Curl Amplifier. The curls can be air dried if time is short or diffused for a glam look.
